A PRESENCE ON THE WEB

Dear Studebaker Vendor:

If you don't have a web page, especially if you already have an email address, the Studebaker Vendors Web Site may very well offer the perfect solution. Web sites can cost thousands of dollars to develop, and there is also a monthly web hosting charge that can run from $10.00 to over $100.00 a month depending on the service. By pooling our resources, you can have a A Presence on the Web, for a fraction of the cost. I will design your page and upload it to the world wide web as part of the Studebaker Vendors web site. Our web site address is  http://www.studebakervendors.com.

WHAT THIS DOES FOR YOU?
Any visitor to the Studebaker Vendors Web Site will be able to get to your page. In addition, I will supply you with a web page address which you can put on your business cards and advertising copy. The web page address will take visitors directly to your page. Thus, visitors can reach you in two different ways. There is also a link from our 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk Owners Register web site, to the Studebaker Vendors web site. Additionally, many other web sites have links to StudebakerVendors.com. This provides additional avenues to bring traffic to you. I have registered Studebaker Vendors with all of the major search engines so anyone "surfing" the web for anything Studebaker, will have a good chance to find the Studebaker Vendors web site. And finally, I advertise Studebaker Vendors in Turning Wheels. I can't advertise in Hemmings or Old Cars magazine because the web site violates their advertising policy(?).

WHAT IS ON THE WEB PAGE?
Your page can contain a logo, your company name, address and phone number, and a description. If you have an email address, that would be included, with the capability to email you directly from your web page. I can't put lists of parts and prices on the page, unless they are something you will have for sale over a long period of time. The best way to describe it is that your page would look like a full page ad in the yellow pages, except it would be in color. Of course, there are limits as to how long your page can be, but generally, a web page could be several pages. That should be more than enough to accommodate your information.

WHAT DOES IT COST?
The one time cost to design the page and put in on the Studebaker Vendors site has been eliminated The ongoing cost to maintain, or host, the page is  $45.00 per year. Therefore, to get a page designed and put on the web, the cost would be $45.00 for the first year, and $45.00 for each subsequent year. Prices are subject to change, but have so far they have only gone down. It all depends on the number of vendors taking advantage of our services.

HOW DOES THIS COMPARE TO OTHER ADVERTISING RATES SUCH AS HEMMINGS MOTOR NEWS OR OLD CARS MAGAZINE?
At $0.25 per word, you could advertise a 15 word ad each month for one year, for $45.00. Depending on the publication's circulation, your ad could reach a few hundred to several hundred thousand potential customers. A web site could be seen by millions of people around the world.

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO COST ME ANYTHING?
The yearly fee helps me cover my costs. I paid a fee to register the domain name (DN), StudebakerVendors.com., I also pay a yearly fee to keep this domain name. In addition, I pay the Internet Service Provider (ISP) a monthly fee for both internet access and web site hosting services. There are also costs to advertise the site. If enough vendors sign up, the possibility exists that I could reduce the yearly fee. This web site does not benefit me in any way financially. It is simply a way for the hobbyist and the vendor to make contact.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Contact me at the address shown below. You can also send any logos and wording you want included on your page. If you already have an ad copy, I can load something about your business within 24 hours. I will then design your page and load it on the site. Once you approve it, you can then pay a pro-rated fee for the remainder of the first year. In January, I will send an invoice for $45.00 to cover the new year.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL BEFORE THE YEAR IS UP?
Just let me know your wishes. I will remove your page from the site at the end of the month and return 1/12 of the yearly fee to you for each unused month of the yearly term.

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE HOW IT LOOKS?
I will send you a copy of the page. You can make corrections and additions. I will make the changes and upload it to the Studebaker Vendors site. We can keep at it till you are happy.

WHAT IF I WANT TO MAKE CHANGES DURING THE YEAR?
Most web site designers charge about $65.00 and hour to make changes to a site. I will make minor changes to your page at no charge. Changes can include adding, changing, or deleting text or  logos, rearranging items on the page, or changing some of the colors. As long as the changes do not involve a major overhaul of your page, there will be no charge. Think of your web page as a yellow pages ad or business card, without a size limitation. You can advertise parts and/or services that are ongoing, but not one only items that won't be available once that item is sold.
